Using chemical fertilizers as herbicides is environmentally-friendly and good for crops

Instead of using herbicides that often causes bad effects to environment, crops. A gardener in Hau Giang thought of using chemical fertilizers as herbicides to kill grass in his garden. 

As an experienced person with years of gardening, Mr. Phan Thanh Sang of Chau Thanh district, Hau Giang province thought of using chemical fertilizers to kill grass, instead of using herbicides. Many times he fertilized his Apricot garden, Sang found that using too much fertilizers can poison weeds and prevent them from photosynthesis.

Chemical compounds that he used, they contained urea and potassium, water with the ratio of 1:1:10, these compounds can bring the highest effective in killing grass, Mr. Sang applied these compounds to kill weeds in his apricot garden as well as oranges, papaya garden, etc.

According to Mr. Sang, frequently useherbicidesto remove grass can bring bad effects to crops, health and environment. In contrast to using chemicals as potassium fertilizer and urea, these compounds will quickly seep into the soil, and help crops to fight against pests.

This solution can be considered and examined by experts, and it will be expanded in the near future (once it has been approved). Mr. Sang presented his ideas in using chemical fertilizers to replace herbicides, his project was sent to attend Hau Giang technical innovation contest 2013. It was highly appreciated, and promisingly has wide applications in agriculture activities – Mr. Sang received consolation prize for his innovation.
